Intermediate & Advanced — September 26–27
Bailey McCully and Nathan Dias met at Herräng in 2025 and quickly found a shared way of dancing: musical, playful, curious, and deeply rooted in Lindy Hop.
Their first San Francisco workshop grew out of that connection—and it was too much fun not to do again.
This weekend, we’ll explore rhythm, connection, improvisation, personal style, creative movement, and fast Lindy Hop—with material that’s approachable, useful, and rich enough to keep unfolding after the workshop is over.
THE WORKSHOP
Saturday, September 26 — Main Workshop Day
- 11:00am — Student check-in
- 11:15am–12:45pm — Workshop
- 12:45–2:00pm — Lunch break
- 2:00–5:00pm — Workshop
Saturday is the main workshop day, starting with approachable Intermediate material and building toward more challenging material as the day progresses.
Please bring your own lunch. There aren’t many quick food options near the studio.
Sunday, September 27
- 2:45pm — Student check-in
- 3:00–6:00pm — Workshop
Three more hours to dance, explore, and build on what we discover together.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
At least 6 months of Lindy Hop experience is recommended, including roughly 4 months of beginner-level experience and at least 2 months of intermediate-level experience.
To get the most out of the workshop, you should be comfortable with Swingouts, Lindy Circle, 6- and 8-count turns, Side-by-Side Charleston and other Charleston variations, Tuck Turns, and a few classic Lindy Hop “signature” moves. You should also have some experience social dancing and be starting to experiment with rhythm, footwork, and improvisation.
This workshop is for dancers who are curious about the dance itself — whether you’ve been dancing for 6 months or many years. We’re especially interested in material that is accessible and fundamental, but reveals new possibilities as your dancing develops. Experienced dancers who enjoy exploring, refining, and finding beauty in the basics will be right at home.
WHAT WILL WE EXPLORE?
We’re keeping the exact curriculum flexible so we can respond to the dancers in the room, but expect to dig into:
Musicality & Rhythm · Connection · Improvisation · Personal Style · Jazz & Lindy Hop · Fast Lindy Hop
We’ll explore ways to dance more musically, connect more clearly with your partner, play with rhythm and movement, and find your own voice in the dance — all rooted in the jazz and improvisational spirit of Lindy Hop.

Bailey McCully – Bellingham, Washington
Bailey is a Lindy Hop and jazz dancer, teacher, performer, and organizer known for precise, deeply musical dancing and a wonderfully playful approach to movement.
She’s especially interested in fast Lindy Hop, jazz movement, improvisation, creative shapes, and personal expression. Her teaching combines strong technique with curiosity: not just how to execute something, but how to play with it, reshape it, and make it your own.
Her dancing reflects a deep appreciation for Lindy Hop’s history and culture while leaving plenty of room for silliness, experimentation, and surprise.

Nathan Dias – San Francisco, CA
Nathan is the owner and house instrunctor of Cat’s Corner, where he teaches weekly Lindy Hop classes and runs San Francisco’s Wednesday-night dance.
His teaching centers on rhythm, musicality, connection, improvisation, and the jazz roots of Lindy Hop. He especially likes ideas that seem simple at first but keep revealing more as your dancing develops.
Rather than giving students more patterns to memorize, Nathan aims to help dancers understand what’s happening—so they can listen, respond, improvise, and make choices of their own.
