In those days, Johnny played with both the Jellyroll Souls - a band that eventually evolved into the world renowned California Honeydrops - as well as with his own swingin' ensemble, the Palace of Jazz. Those two bands alternated on stage for months, captivating swing dancers, and infusing the venue with energy and building its reputation for super fun nights!
